First of all, the smaller the number of ounces, the larger the pistachio, and naturally, if the number is larger, we have smaller pistachios. But there is one very important point to consider; Chinese pistachios have not been produced yet, all the seeds of which are the same size! It has not yet affected Indian and Chinese rice. For this reason, to measure different types of pistachio cultivars, they measure the size in a range. For example, Akbari pistachio, which is one of the largest types of pistachios in Iran, is between 22 and 24 ounces.

Method of measuring pistachios
Simply put, the measurement of pistachios in Iran based on ounces is as follows: To determine the ounce of pistachios, 142.5 grams of pistachio samples are prepared first. Pistachios are then grouped and there should be 5 pistachios in each group. After this number the groups are counted; The number of these groups indicates pistachio ounce. For example, if there are 21 groups, the ounce is between 20 and 22, 28 groups have 28 to 30 ounces, and so on.

Introducing some types of pistachios in Iran
We have said all this about pistachios, but we have not introduced them accurately and separately yet! So be with us to continue to introduce different types of Iranian pistachios.

Pistachio (hazelnut)
One of the most popular types of Iranian pistachios is Ouhadi pistachio. This pistachio accounts for about 60 to 70% of the Iranian pistachio crop. But why is the name of this pistachio Ouhadi? Years ago (1920s and 1930s), a farmer named Mr. Ouhadi discovered and identified this pistachio in the village of Fatahabad in Rafsanjan, and later, because he was not very creative; He puts his family on it and this pistachio becomes one! For about three decades, of course, this pistachio has found its way to other places, including Khorasan. Ouhadi pistachio or hazelnut pistachio, which of course is also called Round in the world markets, is one of the round pistachios, and because of this round and hazelnut-like appearance, it is known as hazelnut pistachio.
