Recognizing the age pest of pistachio tree

In both species, the insect (pest) is completely green and has a Iranian Pistachio white spot at the end of the spike. They have 5 nymphal ages and 3 to 5 generations per generation. Overwintering in the form of whole and brown insects and in mountainous areas under a variety of wild plants such as pecan, salt, artichoke, scissors and so on.

From mid-April, adult insects feed on spawning grounds and feed on newly hatched hosts. These insects invade pistachio orchards in late June and early July if the natural conditions are unfavorable and the wild hosts dry up.
