The second generation of pistachio psyllid nymphs

ساخت وبلاگ

The second generation nymphs are active and Iranian Pistachio feeding from the beginning of June to the end of the second decade of June. Trees are less tolerant of nymph damage at this time than other generations. Because the vegetative growth of the trees has stopped and the fruit has started to go to the brain and the buds are apparently fully formed.

As a result, pest damage causes hollowing and leaf and bud shedding. Damage Psyllid nymphs feed on plant sap by dipping their nostrils into the surface of the leaves. Proteins absorb plant sap and excrete sugars in sap. These sugars dry in the presence of air and are called sugars.

This sticky material absorbs dust and makes the branches and leaves of trees ugly. Loss of plant sap causes general weakness of pistachio trees and loss of leaves, buds, small seeds and an increase in the percentage of box and mouth-dependent fruit.

Damage to pistachio psyllid nymphs on trees is more than two times of the year. One in June which causes the fall of leaves, spikes, buds and increase the amount of boxing and the other in August which increases the amount of mouth.

If the population of the psyllid pests erupts, it announces severe generational interference. Under normal circumstances, in the first half of each month the nymph stage and the second half of each month there are adult insects in the gardens.
